Hatha Yoga is an ancient discipline of physical purification, or shatkarma, that one practices for higher meditation. The word Hatha is a combination of "Ha" meaning sun and "Tha" meaning moon. Combined, the term Hatha means FORCEFUL, indicating the dedication, strength and concentration explored in a yoga practice.
Yoga, as it is known in the Western world, is a practice built on asanas, or postures, that systematically stretch and strengthen muscles throughout the body, increase circulation to internal organs and glands, quiet the nervous system, and improve concentration. By combining the asanas with pranayama, or yogic breathing, the body builds internal heat elevating the heart rate, increasing calorie burn and releasing toxins. This ancient system of self-care brings vitality, health, deep relaxation, and peace of mind.

Amy's style is a fusion of Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow. This unique style is a balanced mix of static postures and rhythmic flows set to tranquil yet motivating music. Amy focuses her teachings on internally recognizing proper body alignment and gracefully transitioning from asana to asana. Vinyasa can be guided in a gently heated room to increase flexibility, calorie burn and detoxification. Amy encourages all her students to listen to their bodies, respect their boundaries and progress at their own pace.
